Full-time teachers in the state of Georgia are slated to receive a one-time retention bonus of $1,000 from federal stimulus dollars. Part-time teachers will be eligible for about half of that amount.
Districts will be required to pay out the bonus allocation by June 30th.
The bonuses “are meant to keep educators in the field so there continues to be a firm foundation when schools return to more normal operations when COVID-19 no longer negatively impacts schools,” according to state documents.
